Troy Fitrell, the State Department's top diplomat overseeing African affairs, is set to retire at the end of the month after a distinguished three-decade career in foreign service.
Jonathan Pratt, currently serving as the bureau's deputy assistant secretary and former ambassador to Djibouti, will step in to assume the senior bureau official role following his departure.
