The Pakistani government, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, strongly rejected and dismissed a report by American broadcaster CBS News, which claimed that Iranian military aircraft were hidden at a Pakistani airbase to evade airstrikes from the United States.

Pakistan Denies Accusations of Hiding Iranian Military Aircraft
According to a report by the Anadolu news agency, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that these accusations are misleading and intended to undermine regional peace efforts during a time of high tension. The ministry explained that the previous presence of both Iranian and U.S. aircraft on Pakistani soil was strictly for diplomatic purposes—ferrying diplomats, security teams, and administrative staff to participate in talks aimed at de-escalating the conflict between the two nations.
Regional tensions have escalated significantly since late February, when the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, triggering intense retaliation that led to the closure of the globally vital Strait of Hormuz. Despite a temporary ceasefire brokered by Pakistan since April, the situation remains highly volatile, especially after U.S. President Donald Trump immediately rejected Iran's latest war-ending proposal on Sunday, calling it unacceptable.
Pakistan emphasized that it will maintain its neutral stance and continue to act as an honest mediator for regional stability, completely denying any military involvement as alleged.
